NIGHT COLLECTING SHEET SETUP
 Light collecting sheet set-ups (Light Rigs) are designed to be light weight and easy to set-up. Light rigs are custom made to fit the physical size of the user and the capability of the generator that will provide the power to operate the lights. The frame work is 84 inches wide and 88 inches in height and constructed of aluminum tube with steel connectors. The connectors are held together with set screws to provided a smooth surface which allows the cross bars to slide through hemmed folds of the cloth panel. The Frame work consists of two collapsible leg assemblies, two up-right and three cross bars to suspend the sheet and mount the lights. The frame work is easily assembled with nine (9) set screws. When the frame work is disassembled, there is no piece longer than 48 inches. When disassembled it can be transported in virtually any type of vehicle and when assembled the free standing frame can be placed virtually anywhere. The cloth panels are made of a bright white canvass cloth which provides excellent light reflectivity and exceptional durability. The cloth consists of a vertical panel 84 W and 88 W and an apron panel that is not connected to the vertical panel and lays flat on the ground between the two leg assemblies. Insects that contact the vertical sheet fall onto the apron where they can be easily located.

The lights mount to the top cross bar and the vertical sheet is suspended from the mid cross bar and the lower cross bar. The mid cross bar is not bolted to the frame and is contained in a bracket on each side of the frame. While the Light Rig is in use, the mid cross bar can be lifted out of the side brackets and the sheet assembly lowered to the ground should a storm arise or during periods of wind. This prevents the frame from flipping and/or damage to the frame assembly caused by the billowing sheet.
The ballasts and electrical controls are enclosed with weather tight metal enclosures with a separate off/on switch for each MV ballast. The off/on switches are used in conjunction with a relay that detects power faults and/or power loss and will automatically shuts off the power to the ballasts. This prevents electrical damage to both the ballasts and/or the portable generator.
Light rigs consist of two Mercury Vapor bulbs mounted at a 45E angle to bracket on the top cross bar. Two 365 Quantum Black Light bulbs are suspended from the bracket with the MV bulbs, one on each side of the vertical sheet. The are several other optional light configuration available.
