 PHOTOELECTRIC SWITCHES
Photoelectric switches will turn the Light Trap on at dusk and off at twilight. This enables the user to set the trap out earlier in the evening and retrieve it later in the morning while reducing wear on the battery. Photoelectric switches are recommended for both 32 Watt and 40 Watt - 12 Volt DC Light Traps.

 SORTING SCREENS
Each trap is equipped with a single sorting screen with .187 holes. An additional sorting screen with .375 is optional. The screen is stacked and separated with supports. Sorting screen are made from 20 Gauge Stainless Steel.

TRAVEL OPTION
The standard Light Trap with Rigid Vane Assemblies will completely break down. The Vane Assembly is bolted together with machine screws and wing nuts that can be easily disassembled. The power supply (12 Volt DC only), funnel, rain drain tube and screens will fit into the 3 ½ gallon pail, However, the Vanes are several inches taller than the 3 ½ gallon pail and while not enclose. A screw driver and spare hardware are included.

REPLACEMENT FLUORESCENT BALLASTS
Ballast are designed for use with fluorescent bulbs of a specific wattage. Using the incorrect ballast will shorten the life of the bulb and effect the UV bands that are emitted from the bulb.
We changed the design of the ballast in 2003 and the wiring of the vane assemblies in 2005 to allow the use of both AC and DC power in both Collecting Lights and Light Traps. However, Light Traps manufactured prior to 2005 are wired for a specific voltage, either AC or DC. Unless specified as a dual voltage trap, an AC ballast will not operate a DC trap and vise versa. The new ballast will operate existing traps; however, the wiring must be modified to properly operate the bulb. The new ballast will operate both Collecting Lights and Light Traps of the same wattage. To insure that you receive the correct ballast, contact us directly before ordering a replacement ballast. Unlike older designs, the new ballast is repairable. We have an inventory of new and rebuilt ballast and can ship a replacement ballast in 48 hours or less.
We also offer replacement ballast and bulbs for all makes of light traps. These include Ilisco, Agri-Lite, BioQuip, Gempler, and other light traps that are no longer manufactured.
