FLUORESCENT UV COLLECTING LIGHTS
Collecting Light Units are designed to be light weight, durable and effective. The ballast is enclosed in a weather tight cast aluminum box. The battery connector cable on 12 Volt DC units have an off-on switch for a safe and spark free disconnect from the power source. The preheated type ballast of the 120 Volt AC Tropics Unit is enclosed in an aluminum sheet metal that is not weather tight. The fluorescent bulbs are Shatter Proof. Bulbs are enclosed in a clear plastic material. Should you break the fluorescent bulb, the glass and phosphoric materials of the bulb will be contained within the clear plastic enclosure. This will prevent injury to the user and allow for the easy disposal of the broken bulb. A plastic mesh sleeve is provided for additional protection while the fluorescent bulb is in transit. The flourescent bulb is attached to a 12 foot cord with a four way connector to the ballast. Should the fluorescent bulb fail or break, the bulb with the cord can be returned for replacement at the cost of a new bulb, plus shipping. All ballast are interchangeable with our light traps of the same wattage produced after 2002. A battery connector cable with alligator clamps are provided with 12 Volt DC units for use with automotive or small yard tractor batteries.

ABOUT MERCURY VAPOR
Mercury vapor bulbs have a wider color band than fluorescent black light from the blue end of the color spectrum. The higher wattage of the mercury vapor bulb provides greater reach of the emitted UV light. Bulbs are clear (Non-frosted).
 MERCURY VAPOR COLLECTING LIGHT UNITS
Mercury vapor provides a UV light from the blue end of the spectrum. The ballast is enclosed in an vented aluminum enclosure and is hard wired together with a terminal strip. The bulb is mounted in a porcelain mogul mount with a 12 foot cord that plugs into the ballast enclosure. The porcelain mogul mount can be mounted to a tripod for use with a sheet (175 and 250 Watt only). All Mercury Vapor Units are for use in North America only. The ballasts are design for use with a specific watt bulb, use of a lower wattage bulbs can cause the bulb to burst and injure the user.
SELF BALLASTED MERCURY VAPOR LIGHT COLLECTING UNITS
Self ballasted mercury vapor collecting units are lightweight as the ballast is contained within the glass of the bulb. They can be used in electrical systems outside of the United States and Canada. A power adapter plug for a specific power source will be required for the country where it will be used. A medium porcelain mount with a 12 foot cord is provided with a grounded plug. The medium porcelain mount and adapter plate can be mounted to a tripod for use with a sheet. These units are ideal for travel to the tropics.
